10 Tips to Save Money Right Now

If you’re like me, you want to see progress in your debt or bank account QUICKLY. I’ve gathered some tried and true tips for you to help save money FAST. Before you knock these tips, try giving them a shot! The first step to progress is TRYING.

  1. STOP GOING OUT TO EAT. Please don’t stop reading now! I know that eating out is SO fun, but boy does it ADD UP. Instead of meeting friends at a restaurant, host a few friends at your place and try a taco bar! Have friends brings over different toppings and EVERYONE saves money.

  2. GOODBYE, SUBSCRIPTIONS! If you don’t use cable all that often, cancel it! Do you have a gym membership you haven’t used in months but you’re still paying for it? Cancel it. Get outside instead. Take a hard look at any subscriptions and get rid of the unnecessary ones.

  3. GET A SIDE GIG. Are you handy and creative? Try selling your creations! Have some free time on your hands? Apply to a second job! Last year, I juggled my full-time job and my newborn babe while working part-time as a stylist with StitchFix too. If you think you’re strapped for time, try logging for a day how often you go on social media. Swap out your social media time for a second job and bring in some more dough! If you stay at home with kiddos, consider watching another babe while you’re at home, too to bring in some extra cash.

  4. STICK TO THE LIST. Grocery shopping can be a time where we suddenly discover all the foods we need to try all at once #guilty Next time you run to the store, make a list and stick to it. ONly buy what you need and say “no” to the rest. Your wallet will thank you.

  5. SELL YOUR EXCESS. The world of social media is quite helpful when it comes to getting rid of your junk. Post items you have for sale on Facebook Marketplace or even your personal Instagram. This is a great way to declutter and make some money in the process. Marie Kondo would also approve. #sparkjoy

  6. SAY “NO.” This is hard and I know it, but the word “no” is a FULL SENTENCE. Stop trying to justify your self-control.

  7. DON’T LISTEN TO YOUR BROKE FRIENDS. You might get made fun of for your new money-saving lifestyle. If this is the case, YOU’RE DOING IT RIGHT. You’re going against what everyone says you should, but reality is- Everyone else is BROKE. Adopt Dave Ramsey’s phrase, “Live like no one else now so later you can live like no one else!”

  8. LISTEN TO DAVE. Have you tuned into the Dave Ramsey Show before? Check out YEARS worth of money advice on his YouTube Channel. These are so motivating to watch!

  9. BUY GENERIC. It’s identical to the name brand stuff, but saves you a good portion of the cost!

  10. KEEP THE CHANGE! Save up your change over time. Each time it accumulates in your wallet, throw it into a change jar. Keep it in the jar for a year. If you do this each time the change accumulates, you’ll have HUNDREDS!
